Birth of Ghalib
Mirza Asadullah Beg Khan — known to posterity as Ghalib, a `nom de plume’ he adopted in the tradition of all classical Urdu poets, was born in the city of Agra, of parents with Turkish aristocratic ancestry, probably on December 27th, 1797. As to the precise date, Imtiyaz Ali Arshi has conjectured, on the basis of Ghalib’s horoscope, that the poet might have been born a month later, in January 1798

Dear readers
This is an scholarly acument of Maulana Arshi that he penned down around 50 articles on Ghalib alone, ( Infact he was a true scholar of Arabic and persian) in one of his article on Ghalib ( Ghalib ka Zaicha) he proved that the poet had borned in Jan.1798 instead of the date Dec.27 , 1797.
I attended the seminar on Maulana Arshi on 25 Dec 2004 organised by Qaide i Azam Library and GCU Lahore. It is rather unfortunate that Govt. of pakistan has not taken any initiative to gloryfy this great Scholar of Undivided India and after.Honourably he took his honours from Oriental college,Lahore in 1926.I take this apportunity to request the learned authorities of Govt. of Pakistan to initiate in this direction and atleast to honour Maulana Arshi name any university or library of repute or research center for him.He was not a scholar who belongs to India but a international figure of literary world.
At present i am busy in research work on Maulana Arshi and would request the readers to help me out in this jesture.
